Iran short ‘Varahram’ to vie at Bangladeshi filmfest

Directed and written by Mahdi Kamrani, the short film ‘Varahram’ has been set to go on screen at the 2019 edition of the International Children’s Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The short film tells the story of a young girl whose mother does not allow her to play with other children who play in the street. Even when going out, her mother locks her in the house.

Some 21 other Iranian titles will also compete at this edition of the Bangladeshi festival.

According to the official website of the event, the International Children’s Film Festival is an annual week-long film festival which showcases full-length features, shorts, and experimental films made for children around the world.

The 12th edition of the festival is slated for March 2-8, 2019.
